Scanstack Developer NotesLocal-First Document Scanning Scanstack is a lightweight, privacy-focused document scanner and digitizer developed under the HXT Stack Tools product line. The application is designed to operate primarily on your device as a Progressive Web App. Your scanned documents, imported files, and library information are stored locally within your browser using technologies such as IndexedDB. Scanstack does not require a user account, email address, phone number, or recurring subscription. Privacy by Design Scanstack is designed around a local-first architecture. This means:
Your document library is not automatically uploaded to HXT Images.
Your scanning activity is not connected to a personal account.
Your scanned files and settings remain within your browser's local storage.
Scanstack does not require advertising networks or behavioral tracking systems to function.
HXT Images cannot remotely view, restore, or manage files stored in your local Scanstack library.
No software can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free. Scanstack is provided as a practical, independently developed utility and should be used with appropriate care. Optional Development Support Scanstack may include an optional link allowing users to support continued development. Any contribution is voluntary and is not required to access the application's core scanning features. When an external payment provider such as Stripe is used, the payment transaction is handled through that provider's secure checkout environment. Scanstack does not intentionally provide Stripe with access to your document library, scan history, or locally stored files. External payment services remain subject to their own privacy policies, terms, security practices, and data-processing procedures. Local Storage and Data-Loss Warning Because Scanstack stores information locally, your library may be affected by changes made to your browser, device, or installed application. Your Scanstack library may be permanently deleted if you:
Clear your browser's site data, cookies, cache, or local storage.
Use storage-cleaning or system-optimization software.
Reset or reinstall your browser.
Delete the installed Progressive Web App.
Remove Scanstack's browser or camera permissions, or stored application data.
Lose, damage, reset, or replace your device.
Use a browser mode that does not preserve local data.
Encounter browser, operating-system, storage, or hardware failure.
HTX Images does not maintain a cloud backup of your Scanstack library and cannot recover files that are deleted from your device. Keep Your Original Documents Scanstack should not be treated as the only permanent storage location for important documents. Always keep an independent backup of your exported PDF files and original physical documents in a secure location, such as:
Your computer's document folder.
An external hard drive or storage device.
A trusted cloud-storage provider.
Another secure backup system under your control.
A physical filing system for essential paper documents.
When available, you may also use Scanstack's Export Document feature to save a copy of a file stored within your local library. Confirm that an exported file opens correctly before securely disposing of the original physical document or deleting it from your local library. Use at Your Own Risk Scanstack is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without guarantees that the software will always operate without interruption, data loss, compatibility problems, security vulnerabilities, errors, or unexpected behavior. You install, access, and use Scanstack voluntarily and at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Zachary Paul Hernandez and HXT Images are not responsible for losses or damages resulting from:
Lost, corrupted, deleted, or inaccessible files.

Use of the application in violation of applicable laws or third-party rights.
You are responsible for maintaining backups, protecting your device, ensuring you have the legal right to digitize documents, and determining whether Scanstack is appropriate for your intended use. Document Safety Scanstack allows users to capture physical documents using their device's camera and import files obtained from their own sources. Only scan or import documents that you trust and have the right to reproduce. HTX Images does not review, approve, scan, license, or verify user-generated documents. You are responsible for ensuring that your files:
Come from a trusted source.
Do not contain malicious or corrupted content.
Were obtained and digitized legally.
Do not violate copyright, privacy, contractual, or intellectual-property rights.
Are suitable for storage and viewing on your device.
Scanstack does not grant ownership, reproduction rights, distribution rights, or permission to use copyrighted documents. No Official Content Rating Scanstack does not currently have an official public content or safety rating from organizations or marketplaces such as ESRB, PEGI, the Apple App Store, the Microsoft Store, or Google Play unless a rating is specifically displayed on an official Scanstack listing. Scanstack is a general-purpose document-scanning utility. The content captured or displayed within it depends entirely on the documents scanned and imported by the user. HXT Images does not control the content of user-generated documents. Browser and Device Compatibility Progressive Web App support, camera access, and local-storage behavior may differ between browsers, operating systems, and devices. Features may behave differently following:
Browser updates.
Operating-system updates.
Changes to Progressive Web App standards.
Storage restrictions imposed by a device or browser.
Changes to hardware permissions (e.g., camera access) or privacy settings.
Low-storage conditions.
Private or incognito browsing sessions.
For the best experience, use a current version of a supported browser and keep your device's operating system updated. Review Before Installing For your own peace of mind, read all available Scanstack documentation before installing, running, or storing documents in the application. Before using Scanstack:
Review the installation instructions.

Understand how deleting browser data may affect your library.
